Hello masters question! i just got my TR-332 earlier, is it normal to have a really overexposed output when set to TTL or i have a faulty one?

"TTL" is for film cameras. If it is used on a digital body, the camera cannot deliver the necessary information, so the flash does what it sees fit - give a full dump.

I have been trying to get my new Knight TR-332 system to work with my 5D Mark II. I followed the instructions below but have no 5D mode option. It goes through groups A through E than just goes back to A again. No 5d. Any ideas what is going on? Help!

Grimlock wrote in post #12355267 (external link)
You have to set it to 5D mode. It's in the instruction booklet.

---------------
Turn off both 5DII and Pixel TX. Mount TX and turn both 5DII and TX on.

Press SET 2 sec's to show "se gp A".
Press SET 5 more times to show "se fn 5d".
Press POWER to show "5d OFF". Press POWER again to toggle setting to "5d ON".

Pause until TX comes ready - display should now include "5d" on the left.

No setting required on the RX unit.
---------------

Hope that helps.

so is anyone using these, this thread just sorta died lol.

my question for anyone using these, is how well do they work with ETTL and HSS? I essentially want to have 1 trigger and 1 receiver (580ex) for run and gun for wedding portraits (assistant holding flash) and was curious how these are working. ive read a ton of threads but sounded like they are coming out with some new models (or are already out?)

any love would be great!

I used them for almost a year, but for the last 14 months I have used the second-generation version called Pixel King for Canon. They work great, and are very reliable, but have limitations. You might like to check the link in my signature before deciding.

What camera are you using? ETTL and HSS work great with the 580EX. The advanced remote control features require a Mark II Speedlite however.

THANKS Clivey, i didn't know if the kings came out before or after.

i shoot a 1d mark IV and a 5d mark II. Ideally i'd like to have a trigger on each camera.

Do you still have to focus and wait for a 1/2 second? can you post any pics from 1/4000 sync or in that range? I think iheard this right, but with the 580ex II I can exposure compensate adn it'll turn the power up or down, but it wont happen with the regular 580 correct?

The Knights (TR-332) are over two years old, and have largely been replaced with a second-generation - the Kings. Pixel Kings are compatible with the 5D III. Life has moved on...

CliveyBoy - i think it´s the reason to choose better system, Phottix Odin. I really didn´t plan to buy few sets of Pixel Knight only for just two years...

Hi
Sorry if it's a repetitious question!
Is it compatible with 1Ds III and 580 I? In my test flash flickers continually for a few seconds.
Dear Clive, would you please upload the user manual in another location? I can't get it in this address:

Thanks

payam - The Knights are listed as not compatible with 1DS III. Also, the 580EX cannot be controlled from the Flash Control menus of the camera.

I have not made the official user manual available - try the Pixel website.

My review and guide is available from:

Can I use it with 5D II and 580 I? How is the setup?
