Oh, an I actually made money this year on photography.

So did I but that's by plan. We work hard to make sure that we get to keep as much as we can for as long as we can.

It all sucks if ya ask me ..If your poor your screwed if you try to gain your screwed ..seems unfair .

I am happy paying tax in that I realise that there are certain things that have to be paid for, it's only when you start looking at some of the other things that tax money funds that I start to get a bit miffed.

There was a story on Comcast news the other day that said 505 of American tax payers will end up paying no tax. Somethings broken cause it ain't me.

I am hearing you neil...

But then think of this in the US...
We pay taxes for Medicaid / Medicare - why not pay a little more tax and have a full NHS and get rid of profit making insurance - rather than paying for those who don't want/get health insurance

the US defence budget is approx $800bn
NASA's budget is what, 10% of that?

we know where all the money goes!!

I have made not effort to catch up. We have guests in town, and this is the most inopportune time they could have picked. We're doing our 1st of the month landlord stuff, and we're scrambling trying to close an escrow that has us nuts. Every day, they buyer's lender throws a new requirement at us for documents, disclosure, etc., etc., and the whole thing blows up if we don't close by the 15th. Add to that, we have clients/friends in town, and they expect to be entertained while all this is going on.

Through it all, we've had a couple nice dinners. Tonight we ate at P.F. Chang's, and last night we ate at the Daily Grill. Very different places, with very different menus, but each delightful in its own way. Last night we ended up sitting at a table next to Tippi Hedren. She's 80 years old, looks 50, and is as spry as a 30-year old. I was very impressed with her. A couple of the other people at her table looked familiar, but she was the only one we could positively identify. (BTW, she has a tattoo on her right shoulder :lol

I've been up since 3:00am, and I think I'm going to bed.

Probably abuse of statistics - more likely 50% won't need to send in a check with their return. Which isn't the same thing at all.
