A newlywed friend of mine is waiting for her marine to come home from Afghanistan. He keeps getting delayed because of the volcano cloud. :(

that is completely awful. I didn't realize how far this was effecting.

My girlfriends daughter went to Ireland for a vacation and got stranded , waiting to get a flight back home .

now being stuck on vacation for a prolonged period of time, that's something I can get down with!

DEB, I really really liked your flower shots today.

excuse the dirty back door...but I had to show you this. I was asking Dan to come outside and take a quick photo for me and we didn't let the dogs go. Kona tried to escape via the cat door.

:D

No, not really. Felt a little weird. I went to get something out of the bottom cupboard in the kitchen and, apparently, I wasn't done draining. :o At least no brains came out. I can't spare any of that.

 Ew!

I have been know to set in on these situations to set a jerk like that straight. It may not sway his thinking at all, but at least the clerk gets to at least know someone is on his side. When I worked out of town a lot years ago, one guy that sometimes worked with us was such a pain in the ass to go out to eat with. He complained all the time if something was not just perfect to him, whether it was the service, the food, or even the chair he sat in. We all refused to go out with him since he would not curb this stupid behaviour. It was downright embarrassing for us, let alone how the poor servers felt.

I have a friend like that. I think it is a disorder. He is fine and normal except for eating out. There is ALWAYS some issue.

I've worked with an a$$ like that. He was always looking for a way to score a free meal EVERY time we went out to lunch. It was horribly embarrassing that this cheap skate was like this. We stopped eating out with him and the boss eventually fired him for continually complaining about what he was owes.

Really sad is that he got his orders earlier than originally expected, now he may be later than they originally thought he would be home. :| True, Marine wife though, she is saying she made this choice she'll wait it out. The support military/service wives give each other is second to none, I know this is giving her a lot of strength.

She just moved into base housing last month and I know can't wait to start making it a home for however long before they move bases.

CHIEF I think she is near you.

It is a whole family, not just a service person, that makes a sacrifice.
