I am finally in for the night. It is too dark to see to do anymore work in the yard. I still have so much to do but it is starting to look better.

Good morning. Hope everyone is well. I slept like a baby, solid 7 hours without interruption. Physical labor is great for that.

Gonna be spending the day finishing the wall. It's coming along nicely but boy those bricks are heavy. Probably moved over 10,000 pounds of rock yesterday and my bones are feeling it.

Wow you have done a great job so far John. Hope you get it finished without any problems.

Had a cold day at a Junior One Day Event.

I had a very interesting encounter with "The Event Photographer". I was standing with the camera to my eye as William was aproaching one of the CC fences when I heard a voice saying "Can you tell me who you are photographing for?"

Politely and without lowering the camera I replied "Not at the moment, no" After William had passed I turned and saw it was the event photographer. I said "Sorry about that I was a bit busy but I am photographing for myself". She said that her company had been photographing the event for the last 12 years and that I had to cease and desist from taking pictures. I told her that appreciated where she was coming from but given that I had no intention of selling or giving away any images and therefore would have absolutely no effect on her ability to make her money, I was going to politely not comply with her request. She just walked away.

Great photos Neil. Looks like your nephew had a great time. and nice handling job with the other photog.

Wow, hubby opened a cupboard that we hadn't even noticed before. It has several 4 packs of 'Cock-n-Bull' Ginger Beer. We were all excited. It's soda.:| Very good soda though. Has a real different taste to it. It's caffeine free and no alcohol. And that is seriously the name of it.:lol:

Great find Paula. Enjoy them

oh I forgot...I was talking with the event videographer. He just bought a regular camera...canon something (not a model I was familiar with...I was trying to teach him how to use it...lol) but the good part was that he's got connections with the association and now he's got my card. :D

Nice - hope they call you for some photos Lisa

Proverbs that sound really familiar, but they're not.
  • If you want a thing done right, do it yourself over and over again until you realize you don't have a clue as to what you're doing.
  • If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride but then start begging again because, DANG, horses can be expensive.
  • Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery AND, as an added bonus, carries with it certain fines due to copyright infringement.
  • Kill two birds with a stone, or, heck, an entire flock with a thermonuclear device.
  • A leopard cannot change its spots, but it can put on a very good set of "Realtree" camo's.
  • Lightening doesn't strike in the same place twice, but wearing that lightening rod on your head is still an ill advised plan.
  • Look before you leap. And, if time permits, you might check the depth, too.
  • Love is blind. Which explains how I got married.
  • Man does not live by bread alone cuz, well, bread makes you thirsty.
  • Mind your p's and q's. You also might keep a loose surveillance on those n's because they're pretty tricky. Tricky, tricky n's.
  • More the merrier. Unless it comes to lemon meringue pie. In that case, back off, man.
  • It's not over 'til it's over. Then it's over. Really.
  • It's never too late to change, unless, of course, you've already jumped out of the plane without a parachute, then it might be a little too late.
  • Once bitten, twice shy. So, twice bitten would mean that you would be quad-shy, and so on, exponentially.
  • A picture is worth a thousand words. Even if those words are, "Oh, for the love of breakfast, what is THAT?!"
  • Out of sight, out of mind. Conversely, if you're out of your mind, outta sight!
  • People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Interestingly enough, people who live in stone houses should not throw glasses.
  • Possession is now only 83% of the law.
  • Pride comes before a fall. Oh, and a banana peel.
  • A rolling stone gathers no moss, but after a while, they look like Zombies.
  • Rome wasn't built in a day but only because they didn't have access to cordless tools.
  • Scratch my back and I'll sue your butt to the Stone Age.
  • The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Or it just gets replaced.
  • Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me. Unless, of course, those names are written on sticks and stones, in which case I'm in deep doo-doo.
  • Two's company, three's a crowd, and around 25 is the beginning of a mob.
  • When one door closes, another door opens. Though, usually, it's just the door to the closet.
  • You can't have your cake and eat it, too. Which implies that it's OK to eat someone else's cake.

there. I feel better now. Thanks.

Those are great Dan - you had me laughing from the start.

Hi Heather

I think they will get here by morning but won't pack too much punch. Come to think of it that may not be a bad thing. I have a large white pine that needs to come down as it is heaving toward the house.

the sum total of my evening has been bathing, resting (trying to knock out a headache) and eating kumquats. Oh and waiting for the storm that knocks down the tree that hits Zane's house.
