I have a list of "must do" things today.

I'm exhausted just thinking about it.:lol:

You won't get any in Boston...

Came home yesterday from CA, and found out that the main water pipe which supplies water to Boston had sprung a major leak...so since Sat, Boston has had no clean water (emergency reservoirs are being used)...so every coffee shop sells no coffee! Well any restaurant cannot really supply anything that requires water to cook with!

 That's awful! How long do they expect it to take to fix it??!

But, had a fabulous time down there - Jon and Heather are super people to hang out with...

Glad you had a good time! You got some pictures, right??

it's so funny to have woken the dogs up 2.5 hrs earlier than they normally get up. They are just rugs in the living room at the moment...considering they always have the pleasure of waking me up, it's nice to turn the tables occasionally.

Jasper often gets up when I do for a morning hug, and then heads off to either Caitlin's or our room until 7:00 or so.

I can't believe they are actually having restaurants open with a lack of clean water, I mean from what I've heard you aren't even supposed to use it for hand washing...what are they cleaning the plates and silverware with?

June 3rd is my husband's birthday.

Skrim17 wrote in post #10111992 (external link)
He's just about the best guy I know .Tif so I'm sure it is a great day to be born!!

Speaking as one with a early June B-day, I can speak from experience. It's a horrible month to have a b-day as a kid, but just fine when you get older.

Let me explain. When I was a kid the optimal b-day months were the school months with the exception of late December and early January. The Dec/Jan timeframe fell to close to Christmas which really toned down the gifting. Usually only a token b-day gift was given because xmas was just rolling up and the big gifts were to be given then. Only the only-children or the rich kids had a huge b-day party and xmas and there were not many of either in our neighborhood.

The school months were best because you have a large pool to choose party-ers from. My sisters with late Oct. and earl Nov. b-days use to have huge parties with tons of kids many from the neighborhood but many from school as well.

June was bad because school just let out so the kids that would have been invited to the party have gone their separate ways. Plus, June is graduation month, vacation month, and wedding month so what happened was that a June party was given to celebrate all the summer b-days, all the graduations, and all the weddings. Everyone was invited to celebrate their own personal event and i would get lost in the crowd. I always wanted a big b-day party and will never have one. :(

Our school year goes thru to the end of June.

My nephew's birthday is Christmas eve, he never gets a party. This year my SIL is having an end of school party for his half birthday.

both my niece and nephew are right before Christmas. I WOULD have hated to have had a birthday then. Mine is in Aug. And during my gradeschool years it was tough but as I got older, my friends and I just made crazy plans...parties became trips

See.. The only kids I felt more sorry for were those born on a leap year. I only knew two.. They were twins. They use to revel in the fact that they were only 3 years old but then I told them they were going to die at 20 or 25 and that took the wind out of their sails. ;):)

I love my June b-day now. It's a great excuse for a huge cookout.. It's now celebrated the first or second Saturday of June depending on what's happening at the time. Gotta love outdoor cookout parties. :)
