Just got home from a day that should have been glorious but turned out to be wet, with the occasional hail storm, cold, bleak and windy. I guess it should not have been a surprise at this is England it it is a Bank Holiday weekend. The senior Cross Country was great to watch, but some of those fences are really frightening, and there was a fair bit of attrition throughout the day, but only one rider went to causality and all the horses were absolutely fine.

We had a beef casserole bubbling away in a slow cooker all day and a rice pudding ready to go in the oven so a cold day will be followed bay a warm snug evening. Unfortunately that will be followed by work in the morning :-(

LOL Indeed it is.

I enjoy a bit of rain at the races as the light is nice and it thins the herd of shooters. Hail doesn't sound much fun though.

It wasn't but a couple of generations back that didn't have vacuum cleaners and before that we lived on dirt. Roll it up, take it outside, and beat it with a stick like the old days.

the vacuum is new...it's not it...it's just stains from the dogs/dirt yard they've created/rain. We just need to get a carpet cleaner which we're more than willing to rent but it's got to be a hot several days so that the dogs don't drag in more mud. It's just that it makes me nuts to clean it but it's not clean.

by the way, pepper does not work to keep Hale from digging. Do you guys have any other suggestions? She's mining for rocks, since we throw away all the rocks in the yard...
