So, they cherry-pick the offers and leave the tough cases for you. Yeah, it's great, but they could loosen up their standards and still place everything they get. </cynicism>

We have often said that... they have a high adoption rate because they only take in highly adoptable dogs. That is a fact. BUT... the fact that every month they take anywhere from 10-20 dogs from us allows us to continue doing what we do.
I know that eventually we could have gotten all those dogs adopted as well, it would have just taken longer.

This way, we can get our little butts to the shelters and fill up again sooner than we would have been able to otherwise.

I can live with that. ;)

I'm sorry that I haven't been participating much.
I have some time here and there, but then feel bad because I don't have time to MMQ or join in, but then I want to tell you all something, but then I feel bad because I haven't commented on everyone else's posts, so I don't say anything, but THEN I miss you all and want to tell you exciting stuff! But then I feel bad about not participating more.

LOL.

I'm a mess.

And on THAT note, I wanted to share that Aspen has been officially adopted. Her new name is Mollie. :)

AND Axl (one of the little pups we were fostering) was on the news yesterday morning.

AND, Trisha from HWAC commented on my Starfish Journal to tell us about it! (That really surprised me! LOL.)

She called Axl a corgi, not a chihuahua. I knew it.

And think how many more you (and other groups) could save if they took more, and placed them like they obviously could . . .

We can't look at it that way though... otherwise we'd get discouraged.

HAHAHAHA! OK, true story....

When I was young, my family was pretty poor. So, when I was going to kindergarten, my "naptime" blanket was the rug out of the laundry room. It was full of lint and dog hair. I didn't care, it was my blanket. There was this girl in my "class", Holly was her name, and her family was filthy rich. No, really. Like, crazy. She had a naptime blanket that was made out of some exotic fabric and her name was embroidered on it. She made it a point to put her blanket next to mine, not because she liked me, but because she liked to tell me how much nicer her blanket was compared to my "rug". I kid you not. She did this all the time.

Which is probably the reason I "accidentally" spilled stuff on her blanket as often as I could, much to her dismay. I think it had to be dry cleaned, so everytime milk, or grape juice, or finger paint got onto her magic carpet thing, she wouldn't have it for a few days until it came back from the cleaners.

I probably should feel some guilt for that. I'll work on it.

Congrats!

:lol:Mine was a true story too:-| I am sure mom got a note about a blanket for nap time and was either like "nap, we didn't get to nap. Why should they?" or "I don't want to send a good blanket he may lose I'll just send this old one we wash the car with".

check this out...not sure the name of the town...it's somewhere in N. Spain. 1967 Elevation 300-500 ft. the wild thing is that even then the sewage just ran down the cliffs from town

Amazing town. Raw sewage still runs in a lot of places. Belize City had no sewers when we were there twenty some years ago.

I went to kindergarten twice. Not cuz I'm dumb... My grandmother was the janitor and my mother was busy on the farm. So, grandma was able to take me to work with her and they let me hang out in kindergarten. I went when I was 4 and 5. Nowadays they have preschool for that age group. Back then in a little farm town they didn't have such things.

That's cool :)
So they didn't wanna tell you that you were dumb, eh?

:p

Sitting here, eating dinner, which is primarily refried beans and Kona is looking up at me as if to ask, "Hey, any of that for me?"

Like I'd willingly give enriched uranium to the mad bomber.
