gjl711 wrote in post #9988593 JJ house update... We got a lot done today. Forms are in, base is in and tamped, and some of the re-bar is laying there. Cement tomorrow. It is looking good JJ. gjl711 wrote in post #9988718 No, I took it from pole-cam. I have a 20' swimming pool cleaning pole. I build a head for it so I can mount my camera on it. I can hols it about 7' in the air so add in the 20' and I get the camera 27' in the air. Yes it is. Three guys, 8 hours and they got it ready for cement. Kewl job with the high cam shot. puddlepirate44 wrote in post #9988779 I'm thinkin' it's Utard for Big A$$ Van. puddlepirate44 wrote in post #9988944 *puts the English/Utard Utard/English dictionary back on shelf* That Puddle fella sure is a good wordologist. -JIM-

Beautiful color pallet, Wooly Dan. short5 wrote in post #9986401 Becky your plants look high in the beds as a a result of years of mulching though they could just be high. It's not a bad thing. Minimize how much dirts you add as you rather they are high than low. Use a spade to cut a nice defined edge on your beds, add a little soil, and mulch is my suggestion. Use pine fines or a mix of shredded pine and fines. It is better for the garden than nasty shredded hardwood mulch. Your weeping tree is a grafted weeping cherry. If you look at it you will see they grafted a weeping top to a straight cherry trunk. It will stay smallish and make an umbrella instead of getting very big. The bud you posted is indeed a magnolia. Thanks Zane. I've actually done the first tilling of the entire garden area, filled in just about half, and tilled again then raked and smoothed. After all the gardens are done, I'll see what is left and lay a layer of the mix on top of what is tilled in. Can't get pine fines around here, wish we could. There are some under the blue spruces between the neighbor and us, might see how much I can rake out, though it is really on their property not ours. The photographer also knows what will work with processing techniques, such as the split tone processing he did on the shot with them in jeans. Good thinking, I'll need to add that to my memory banks. cfpackerfan wrote in post #9986965 Our backyard was so pretty when we first had it landscaped. Now it's just .... doggie.
