I'm part of my school's bboy crew and I was dying to use my new Sigma 30mm for one of their performances.

The theater staff messed up the lighting, once again: very dark and very red. I was prepared for that by shooting in RAW and adjusting basically every picture.

Everything was shot at f1.4 & ISO 3200, and even then some of my shutter speeds were edging on 1/25 and 1/15 ugggh!

Here's just a few. Hope you enjoy. CC welcomed!

Can anyone give me any tips on how I can better prepare for this type of lighting again in the future? Flash is not allowed during a performance, unfortunately.

If f/1.4 and 3200 ISO wasn't enough, then there's not much to say. Sounds like there was not really much more you could have done.

Crimzon is right. Not much you can do unless you can get to the lighting guy and ask him to make it brighter and if you do that he will probably laugh at you. Nice work. Hopefully it will be brighter in the future.
