Joey,
I think you and I have a lot in common and would love to talk to you more about the difficulties you face being a college student and competing with people that have been doing weddings for 30+ years.

I'm not competing with people with 30+ years' experience, I'm competing with those who are putting out a fairly good product and do similar levels of retouching as I do, and who are pricing themselves around my level or slightly below. Plus, they have an assistant and/or second shooter, and I do not.

You could also do this in a wedding scenario, or even possibly photobooth photos (lets not get into who likes/hates them again) and being able to sell them a few minutes later.

...

Another thing that I have been thinking about incorporating is giving the clients something while they wait for their album to be produced. While an album takes a while to be printed, I thought about appeasing and/or teasing clients with a complimentary iPod touch with some photos that will be in the album, some that will not. In doing a large package, a $200 ipod isnt that huge of a cost. I do not plan to list this in my packages, but do this after they choose to go with me and hopefully spread word of mouth.

Lol, yes let's not go there again :)

I'd be very wary about so "apple-centric." If you came to me and showed me your portfolio on an iPad- I'd have my reservations. Despite what Apple would have you believe, not everyone love apple products and goes crazy when they release something "new."

You don't need three people and an iPad to sell photos on the spot.

if you gave me an iPod with photos on it, i'd give it back to you. If you insisted, it would land in the bin.
