I've been lurking around this forum for awhile now. I was looking for inspiration from other photographers. Now I've finally got a chance to post my own.

Here is a pic of my 3 months old son. C+C.

Great pic, we have that same jersey!

The tongue is killing me, it's so cute

Lighting is grat, subject is great but I feel that there is too much black on the right side of the pic. it's a personal preference but it feels like there's a little bit of black crush on Jayden

Great job otherwise

He is adorable! Love those cheeks! When I used to do a lot of studio work, I noticed that some babies tend to stick their tongues out a lot, others don't. Photographing a lot of special needs kids, the same issue existed, if you can call it an "issue." What I would do is have the mom just one ft out of camera range and would have her touch the baby's (or child's) tongue. 9 times out of ten the tongue would go back in. I'm not saying that the baby's tongue being out in this picture is a bad thing, that's what babies do. But if YOU ever think you'd like to not have it in the photo, that is a technique to try.

Not a fan of the mismatched hat. A simple one colored red hat may have been better than the plaid. Good for you for pushing up the brim though, you would have had shadows under the brim or have had to use a reflector to eliminate them otherwise. I prefer to put baseball hats on sideways for that reason.

Love the font you chose for his name. perhaps you could raise the text up to fill in some of that black space? I like that you have him looking IN to the empty space.
The colors are fab in this photo, and his skin looks so creamy velvety! Also love that you got his chubby little fingers in the shot. picky stuff not withstanding, really great pic of a cutie patootie kid!

@ mdrtoys, thanks for the suggestion. I'll crop it a little tighter next time.

@Suecassidy, great feedback. Is there a technique on getting them to stick out their tongue. That was the only shot that I got with his tongue out :D.
