They can not only think, they can plot and cajole.

One of my little girl cats, Gigi, likes to sleep in a cat bed I have in a compartment on my desk top. Normally, she just jumps very easily from the floor to the top of the desk and settles into her spot.

Yesterday, I accidentally stepped on her foot. I consoled and petted her, etc. She was back to normal in minutes.

Just now, she came up to the desk, looked and me, made like she was going to hop up but couldn't, looked at me again, held up her foot, and mewed very softly.

Yes, I picked her up and put her in her spot. She has me well trained.

That's what happens when you're ill and fatigued.

Come to think of it, I've lost jobs because of illness and fatigue; the boss was sick and tired of me.
