Carbon Fiber Lens Hood

my buddy took this photo at a car show. just wondering if anyone out there knows who does these? i'm assuming it's just a vinyl overlay with a clear coat or some sort.

lol....the attraction is already there, why not make that much more attractive.

I think they are wraps

looks pretty ghetto. the inside of the hood still has the flocking, so I imagine it's just a sticker.

with the logo on it, yes. but i think it looks pretty stealthy. to each his own.

Carbon fiber car accessories. Lens hoods aren't shown in the products page of their website, but the logo is the same. Maybe just for promotion at auto-related events?

Actually you can get stickers that look like CF... I bet that's all it is.

Even if it's real CF, you can buy the stuff in sheets and glue it on, then spray a heavy clear coat over it. I've been working with someone building and customizing carbon fiber racing bikes. It's really not all that difficult to work with. A lot like fiberglass, actually... except tougher and harder on tools.

I think the Canon 200/2, 300/2.8, 400/2.8 etc. use actual CF hoods. At least they are priced like it.

Some Nikon Super-tele's come with CF hoods.

i used some for a few of my show cars/trucks.

really nice.. but expensive.. but it has come down over the last few years

not a bad idea, but i think the clear coat is a little too much for my taste. I don't think real carbonfiber weaved autoparts are clear coated to that extent

no but the autozone/pepboys carbon fiber is lol
