Haha, I don't doubt that.

Most Car Modders who opt to lay carbon fiber vinyl usually go with 3M Di-NOC Carbon Fiber Vinyl and it actually looks pretty nice. http://www.customautotrim.com/vinyl/carbon_fiber_vinyl.htm (external link) Scroll all the way down to see some pictures of it applied.

looks pretty ghetto. the inside of the hood still has the flocking, so I imagine it's just a sticker.

nah... it has to be gold plated if you wanna go ghetto :D

That vinyl sucks, doesn't look real. It's just regular plastic vinyl with graphics printed.

The stuff I get on my lens hoods has actual carbon fibre texture on it, it doesn't scuff mar or scratch either. Looks real in the sun too.

i'm just curious as to how it's wrapped at the edges. since the edges will be well seen when lens is pointed.

The vinyl is applied with a heatgun.

It's 3m Dinoc Carbon Fibre. Those lens hoods cost me $30 to wrap, each.

The guy who did it wrapped it around the edges, the vinyl actually sticks to the satin fabric on the inside of the hood! It's amazing vinyl.
