All of $82.00. worth every penny... :)

I noticed you are in Canada. Is $82 in Canadian and US dollars? Also, does that include the shipping cost? I'm in California so I could probably go straight to him.

$82 Canadian, but that was when our $ was higher than yours, and that takes shipping into account also, I'd just shoot him an email and see what he quotes you.

It's lens. There's no such word as lense.

I have a friend who does vinyl stickers, and signage, I may have him give this a try on my 70-200's hood. It's looking a bit too beat up.

I found this old but interesting thread with Google. I have done some parts from carbon fibre about ten years now (mostly for bicycles). Recently i did one cf hood for 40mm stm lens.
Yesterday i managed to end my second project for 24-105 4L.
Both are full carbon fibre, no vinyl or plastic under cf. :)
Here it is:

Sweet. How many grams did you save? ;)

I'm curious about the seams on this, like where the CF wrap meets.

I think i'm going to go and buy some on a popular online auction site. i think an A4 sheet should be enough for 2 hoods?

It would depend on the hoods, but I was able to do 3 with a single 4x8" sheet.
A4 is like 8.2 x11.5", I think?

Two for my SLR 50mms and one for my 18-55mm lens. Total cost was $1 usd shipped for the 3M vinyl(eBay) and $8 usd total shipped for the metal screw on hoods and plastic one for the kit lens(off eBay as well).

They're not race cars so I don't need real CF :D

^ I ended up turning that lens into a pencil holder, it was so horrible lol

I was looking to do a 100-400 L hood and a 24-70 f2.8 L hood. Not too sure on the model numbers of the hoods.
