I know the canon 10-22 starts around $300 (just looked for wide angles to fit canons on ebay)
is there any alternatives for cheaper wide angle lenses?
Or will i have to drop $300 no matter what?

Yep, what he said. If you're looking to go wide, 10-22 is probably your only choice in the canon line for your 20D. There's plenty of 3rd party lenses to choose from though

I don't mind going 3rd party.
Is there a website with lenses and their prices?
I think someone should make a full list LOL

I have never seen a Canon 10-22 go for $300... you can find Sigma 10-20's go for $350ish some times. Thats prolly the cheapest option.

I'd get a EF-S 18-55 IS, you see em go for $100 in the sell section all the time. If 18mm isn't wide enough, take multiple shots and stitch together in Photoshop or some other program. I know Microsoft has a free one: http://research.microsoft.com …m/redmond/groups/ivm/ice/ (external link)

i am thinking I need to just get a 18-55 and a 55-250, and use those for everything (going to airshows and trying to shoot airplanes on the ground and in the air).
as well as normal portraiture and nature stuff
