Photoshop is for photos, and maybe a tiny bit of video, but not for audio at all.

Try using windows media player in conjunction with a demuxer. If you can extract the PCM audio from the file first, it would be very easy. If you have adobe media encoder, you can also just use that and unckeck "export audio"

I am sorry if I wasn't clear, I want to put it on as a video. Mp3's play videos, photos, and music.

MP3 players play mp3s, media players play media ;)

Can't help you without knowing the media player, but windows media player or handbrake should work (one or the other, unless you have a zune, then it's both)

MP3 is an audio format. Not a device. There is no video. You can embed album art, but that is as far as video in a MP3 go.

A digital media player plays MP3's and some can also play video. Commonly in one of the mpeg formats. M4V can also be played on many phones and media players.

There are several free programs that can convert MOV to MPEG. Just go to a site like Download.com and search video converter. You will find hundres of choices, many free.

It's a SONY Walkman Digital Media Player. I tried WMP but just dragged and it wouldn't let me drop. Is there something in the program that converts files? If that doesn't work I will try other programs as per Mark1's suggestion. Thanks again

Some convertions have to do it in real time. As in a 20 minute video takes 20 minutes to convert. This sucks when doing a 2 hour movie! It depends on what type of file is going to what type of file. But most can do it faster.

Unless you are using tape, ALL digital conversions can be done faster than realtime if the computer is fast enough.

Importing is different than converting. But yes, part depends on the computer speed.

Another vote for Handbrake. It's a free and easy converter. You probably want to convert your files to .mp4 which is kind of a video equivalent of mp3.

No, actually it's impossible for any digital data to have a time component. It will not matter unless your source material is time dependent (even DV tape can be done faster, just that most readers can't pump the data out fast enough and are hardware or software limited to improve quality). It is always a function of the computer speed in the digital case though, so your single core 1gflop computer will be ten times slower than a 10gflop single core computer. No getting around that, but also no reason why it should ever need to go slower than it can. Even quicktime (horrible, horrible decoder) can do faster than realtime decoding if your computer is fast enough, or slower than realtime if your processing is far too heavy.

Not all media players do MP4, though the walkman may. Don't use the internal profiles in handbrake though, screen resolution and bitrate capabilities are likely very different.

Don't use random programs, handbrake is a tried and tested solution, as is windows media player. VLC also has larger support in case the two above don't work. Random, unknown programs often have trojan horses, poor memory management, or just don't work at all. Stick to the open source standards and it's going to be fine.

Sorry for slight hijacking of thread, but is there a good video converter for converting from .m2ts to .mp4 or .mov etc. I can't seem to find any that don't cost a fortune.

Anyone ?

Gary.
