Almost all good tripods do that. Here is a cheap Manfrotto alloy one that can do that. http://www.bhphotovideo.com …Aluminum_Tripod_Legs.html (external link)

I need a tripod as well, but mainly for long HDR and long exposure shots. I don't need any of the fancy thing like the OP posted. I didn't wanna make my own thread and was hoping if anyone could recommend a good tripod for an amateur photographer. The one I have just doesn't cut it. I feel like a slight movement will cause the tripod to collapse. I just recently got my Manfrotto Monopod and I like the build quality Manfrotto offers. I would like to stick with a Manfrotto brand considering they offer an extended warranty on their registered tripods and such.

They just have way too many tripods that it is making it quite difficult for me to decide which tripod to get.

Cool resource, but not one for me, who uses older manually-operated glass.
What a shame, as it could be a great reference standard if it included older lenses.

All you need to do is weigh the configuration that you want to put on the tripod and enter this weight.

Here are my thoughts... Never ever skimp on a tripod,, it's one of the most useful pieces of equipment you can own.. A good tripod will last you a lifetime and beyond..

I still have an old Benbo classic I bought in the 1980s.. I used it for 35mm, medium format and 4x5.. It's in the attic of my house still in good condition.. I have since replaced it with a Manfrotto 055xprob because I only shoot DSLR now,,less weight..

Always buy the best you can..
