So I have a Canon XSI, and was looking for a flash to play around with, will this one work? Any tips or tricks when using one?

If you just want to play with it as a slave flash or something then go ahead, but if that will be your only flash I would suggest a Canon speedlite... Sony A6000, 16-50PZ, 55-210, 35mm 1.8 OSS
