Got mine today, it shipped out of Greenville SC. I can't find any signs that it is a "refurb", I'm thinking this may be "old new" stock.

Does this come with all the accessories 'as new'? I'm thinking of it as a gift. Thanks!

If it was "old new" stock, how good is the battery that was included?

I don't know yet. It charged fine, I took five quick test shots and put it back in the bag. We'll see if it holds a charge for a while.

Everything down to the neck strap. Only thing not included is the fancy original box.

Thanks OP! I just got one for my mom's 70th. She'll be thrilled. I ordered the same deal but with the 18-55mm lens for $100 more.

K6AZ, it would be interesting to hear what the date code is on your camera to help determine if it's NOS.

^^^^Nope, Promo code still works for the $399.00 price and they still add the 1GB CF Card.

There are date codes on DSLR bodies? Where? I know film bodies have them but I never knew digitals had them.

I didn't know either until I recently saw it in another thread:

Pull the battery out, then look at the back wall of the battery hole for a date code. Make a note of it, then go to this page (external link), [Bookmark it] and figure out the date and where it was made.
