Hi,

How are you doing?
I'm calling out for help, because I have a little problem. I'm trying to fit 2 camera bodies with mounted lenses on a Flipside 300, so they fit properly protected, but I'm not getting there.

What I'm trying to fit is a 20D gripped with a 24-105 and a xti gripped with a 10-22.

So, anyone have a dual body configuration on a Flipside 300? Any help and pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I'm setting up for a trip, and woud like to take take both bodies with mounted lenses and the flipside for the added security while commuting and general walk-around.

Thank you.
Best regards!

i've got the flipside 400, not sure how much smaller the 300 is, but if its at all similar in size i could see a second body with lens being fit at the bottom of the bag. or if you really cant get it in why not just put one of the bodies in the bag with the lenses not mounted im sure it would fit that way...

You might have a hard time as the velcro for the bottom of the dividers doesn't span the entire length of the bag. You could probably just move the divides up until you can stick on camera up top and one at the bottom (although there'd be nothing to secure the left and right's content).

Yes, the velcro at the bottom is my biggest problem with the flipside 300. Because I cannot place the 2 bodies vertically facing each other.
I'm thinking about trying to place them horizontally, but I was wondering if anyone had done something like this on a flipside 300.

I could take one body without the lens, but because I'm thinking of just shooting the whole trip with this two lens combo, I think it would be practical to have the lenses on the bodies all the time.

Best regards!

I think you might be able to do it if you separate the body and lens of one of the cameras, but without doing that yea I dont know. That bag really is designed for only one body... Did you check out the 400 in your bag search?

I did, but at the time, the two bodies was not an issue.
Will the 400 be able to fit the two bodies with the lenses facing each other? The 24-105 is a bit lenghty.
Either way, the flipside part is a must for the added security. And I would really like to carry both bodies with both lenses attached.

Regards!

Yea you should be able to carry the two bodies with lenses attached, lens to lens in a 400 and still keep the security of the back opening flipside. I would test it out in store first if you can, but from when I owned one I fairly clearly recall it being large enough to accommodate your desired combo. It is quite a bit a different bag. Higher in quality IMO too. The only reason I didnt keep it was bc I never need to carry that much gear with me and only own one body.

I have both the Flipside 300 and 400 and I don't think it's possible to get the two bodies with lenses mounted like you are wanting in the 300. With having two non-pro sized bodies and the shorter lenses you describe I don't think you will have a problem fitting them facing each other in the 400. I'm not sure of the total length you need for that setup, otherwise I would measure the inside of the 400 and let you know.

The lowepro site says 27 X 15 X 42.5 cm for the flipside 400. You could probably fit the 2 bodies/lenses the way you want looking at mine (I just got it from UPS but I'm at the office). I'll try fitting my two bodies and lenses when I get home and take a pic.

Hi...

Thank you for all your help.
I'm thinking, and I think the better option would be to fit the 20D gripped and 24-105 in the regular place, and the fit the xsi with the 10-22 and without grip, sitting sideways and on the place of the 3 lense holder on the side.

Would you consider this a good option?

Cheers!

So, after some tries, I came up with a solution in wich I'm able to fit:

20D Gripped with 24-105
xti with 10-22
both hoods
Batteries and CF's

On a flipside 300.
Do you think this is a good setup?
Is the gear well packed and protected?

Sorry about the pics. Crappy cell phone...

I am still thinking about fitting the xti with the grip in there, but it's complicated. I did a change after taking the pics. In the place of the grip, I placed the 24-105 hood. The grip was to tight agains the lens.

Cheers!
