Basics
Step 1: Color Balance Adjustment Layer (Messed around with that until I got the tones I wanted.)
Step 2: Exposure Adjustment Layer (Brought up my offset a little bit and brought down my exposure slider a little bit)
Step 3: Hue/Sat Adjustment Layer (Lower saturation of general image)
Step 4: Add noise to the whole image. Add a good amount.

Light Leaks:
Step 1: Create a new blank layer and set it to color dodge.
Step 2: Find a large soft brush with the flow at around 20%
Step 3: Pick an orangey color
Step 4: Paint on your light leaks.

Nice, can you save those steps into an action so it can be automated and shared?

I mean I could try but every pic is different, so different results. The best is to experiment around with it.

I hear ya, I need to get more experience with Photoshop I guess.

Great effect though, its very vintagey. That is a common trend these days, my favorite local artist has something good going with his stuff.
He gets his subjects to have a vintage look, or maybe they are all just already into that and then his style of PP I guess adds to it...check him out, love his work...

Your effect reminded me of some of his shots.

Great shot, well composed with appropriate props in-frame, excellent lighting/model, tremendous PP work.

An all round 10-out-of-10 from me!
:D

ps: has anyone else noticed that a lot of "dated" shots look that way, at least in part, because we desaturate. And yet if you watch a Dirty Harry movie that was actually made around the same time, the colours seem over-the-top.
I wonder why that is....?
