I have the opportunity to by one of these lenses, primarily going to use them for landscapes, some sports (and no the AF would not be a factor) and travel. I've shot the Canon 14mm II and liked the results. I also like the color and sharpness of the Zeiss 50mm I have and have read that the 21mm one of the sharpest lens out there. Looking for personal experience and insight on either or both lenses.

Zeiss 21mm. The focal range is much more usable than 14mm, in my opinion.

Those two lenses are such different focal lengths that a comparison seems silly. I agree with David though. Most people would find far a 21mm far more versatile than a 14mm.

Just like the posters above said, you should decide based on the focal length you need or would use the most. 14mm and 21mm are way too different focal lengths. My guess is 21mm lens would be much more useful.

I've read that the 17mm ts-e will give the zeiss a run. Also check out the nikon 14-24.

It's a tough choice..
If it would be my decision, I would go for a 24mm ts-e.

Just choose in terms of FL. Isn't it that the 14L is much more expensive?

24L. It's the best travel lens you can use. 24mm on full frame is a dream. It's also very fast @ 1.4.
