What can you say about this line up? please enlighten me :)

I am actually in the process of upgrading my T1i into full frame.... its not in my plans yet but my gf wants my camera and I said to myself this is the perfect time to plan for an upgrade...

I am actually looking at the 5D MKII or the Nikon D700 and as a wild card the canon 7D (but i don't shoot sports at all) to pair with this glasses.

I really love to shoot my travels, landscapes, seascapes, long exposures and sometimes shoot indoor casual family events. (I don't get paid, I just shoot for fun but would love to have at least a good enough system, I also don't have brand loyalty..any will do)

I know some of you will tell me to buy better glasses etc.. but I don't think I will be able to complete that lineup in the near future if ever I go for L Lenses and even more with Nikkor lenses..

so my question is... are these lenses up to par if used on the 5D MKII or the Nikon D700 for the price I will pay for them? or If I can get 1 L or nikkor lens which one should I get? the rest will be 3rd party, so far these 3 lenses are on top of my list.

I am not in a hurry, I am planning to buy just before the end of this year for the body and 1 lens. then maybe next year for the other additional 2 lenses.

lastly, I know this is a canon forum, so its really ok if your answers are bias to canon hehe :) but I hope some of you could give me insights on your experience with this lenses on the nikon D700.

Thanks in advance :)

The 12-24 is really, really, really wide. I've got one on a 5D II and I have a hard time composing meaningful photos with it. Keep that in mind. It's a fairly good performer, though.

yes sir I am aware that it is really really wide on full frame that's why I included it in my list, I love to be able to capture very wide landscapes. and uber near subjects but still be able to include the background. it might even be the 1st that I will get :)

anybody else wants to share their opinion on this?

If the 70-200 f2.8 OS is anything like the current 70-200 HSM II it is gonna be a great lens. Without know what you shoot it is hard to recommend a must have lens tho.

why not consider Sony A850, too? It has built in IS and most Sigma glass is made for Sony, too. If not, they have some great Zeiss lenses or some nicer old Minolta Maxxum FF lenses.

Here is a pic taken with a 5dmk2 and a 12-24 sigma to give you an idea of IQ at the 12mm end . ...I have a love hate relationship with this lens..e. One minute I would swear its L quality equivalent and the next minute I have some IQ issues with the image resolution and outer edge focus/detail. All in all though Ive got some great shots with it. A bit like golf really....Its that one good shot that keeps you going back :)

oh ok... sorry.. I usually shoot landscape, I mean I tend to set up more for landscape, maybe that is why I am leaning towards fullframe right now... and included the sigma 12-24mm in my selection.

although sometimes, I love to shoot people also. but haven't really tried street photography... more on family members and casual travel pictures.

maybe my post is too complicated hehe to simply put it
is it worth it to go full frame with these lenses in mind?
