Sigma 150 according to his EXIF on Flickr

Indeed...;)

I am thinking the 100 would be a blast to play with.

I have the old 100. I don't know that I use it enough to justify upgrading. I'd be happy just getting 1/10 in sharp focus. :)

I just put the thing on and shoot. Are the results always what I want? Probably the same as any lens - not always. :)

Thank you.. :)

Depends on how much money you want to spend. I'm sure people would recommend the 85L, 135L and/or 200L for portraits. And probably the 24-70/70-200 for weddings. Hope you have deep pockets

i wouldnt hesitate one bit to use a 24-70 for portrait work..indoors or outdoors. its an excellent choice.

Thank you guys (I take some of your comments as indirect compliments :)). People keep telling me that the Zeiss ZE 35/2 is much better than 35L, but I find it hard to understand how it can get much better than this (I know they aren't talking about sharpness, but still). It's not that I don't believe them, but then I see the results I get from 35L, and remember that I have f/1.4 and AF... I wish I could try a ZE and see. On the other hand, ignorance is bliss... :)

But you can.

Roger over @ lensrentals.com had this to say about the Zeiss:

Thanks, but in that case I think it's cheaper to just buy it here in Norway and return or re-sell it if I don't like it. :) But maybe it's better not to even try a Zeiss. I have seen what happened to other people who did - they ended up replacing all their Canons with Zeiss and I can't afford to do that... Besides, I'm really happy with what I have now and don't want to awaken that lens lust again.

It's an amazing lens no doubt, but I want to see what that different rendering is about. The 35L is already as sharp as I would want (even too sharp, sometimes). I have looked at samples of course, but it's hard to judge differences in rendering looking at other people's shots. I believe them when they say it's there, that's why I'm curious. We'll see. Maybe I'll take the risk and try one after the summer. :)

Anyone else following the Soccer world cup btw.? Too bad Sweden didn't make it this year. They did participate in 2006.
