Yes and what you say is absolutely fine for a snap shot/vacation image and theres nothing wrong with that but if you want to start taking images that are more meaningful then a bit more should go into the process, don't you think?

And I don't think its over simplistic because its usually true of all great photographs.

I'm going IFR* @ 0 AGL and I will be badged Media but my actual "Work" load remains to be seen. ;)

Just too much damn gear to fly in anything smaller than a 737!

but in all honesty to answer your question why i shot the landscape is because there wasn't really anything worth shooting along the way.
