Thanks captain obvious!

;) (disclaimer: the previous comment and this comment are meant to be taken sarcastically, but it may not work well with words on a screen, so don't take any offense from it)

I'm about ready to drop the dime on Lightroom 3.

Can you guys give me some tips on setting up an efficient image library?

I'm going to be importing photos from older hard drives, my old laptop, and other random places. I'd like to have one centralized location.

Edit: I found the other threads on here. What do you guys use?

Totally... & 100% why I am opting to get 2 5D's.

Any wisdom on the files I sent you? :)

Exaaaactly.... my 2 GB cards are gonna become useless...

Just don't press the shutter too often. I picked up my very first 32 gig card the other day.

I just import by date. I must say I'm probably not that organized though. LR3.2.

And just to confirm, Lightroom is a catalog? (or acts as one?)

I keep flipping between the 2, I like them both ... "OOOHHH wise ones proclaims that you post them both & gather a consensus on the 2"

Not when it brings his computer to it's knees! :) Images are upwards of 25 megs a shot.

BTW, the 5D2 thread is filled with old 5Dc people but it's just not as friendly.

It's not is it. I like the 5Dc thread much better than the 5D2 thread (which is why I still come back here as frequently as I view the mark 2. It's sad, I was hoping for the same "community" feeling in there but it's just not there.

I had a bunch and kept two for file transfer between computers. haha I don't use them in the mark 2. I've got two 16gb cards I think. Maybe 2 8's?

1.)

1 for me. Usually a shot like this I prefer B&W but i like the sun hitting the tree tops and you just don't see that in the mono.
