So yesterday I was hired as the set photographer for an upcoming French movie that was shooting a few scenes in Montreal. It was actually a fun assignment.

Edit: My poor 5D felt really tiny and unimportant there...

That looks like an interesting way to spend the day. I watched a crew filming a movie in Central Park on Friday and the photographers working on the project seemed to be very busy documenting the action. I could not get close enough to even make out who the actresses were so I got no pics myself.

Stopped it down a bit to create a darker background. Those are lilies and flowers in a pond as the backdrop. Still loving the 5D... no plans to change anytime soon.

Love this one.

These are all with my new 24. I'm still trying to figure out how to use this focal length. It's funny, you use longer lengths for so long, your brain won't stop framing things that way. The number of too-wide shots I've taken with this 24 is laughable, ha. It's like I forget every time how wide it is.

[Edited to say: Not sure why those middle two are no longer showing up. :/ Hopefully they'll pop back up soon. Weird.]

The dude was really good at playing the water glasses, or whatever this is officially called. He would pause between songs to tell stories about how he "found his calling" to do this.

My problem was that I was hired last second because they fired their photographer. And I wasn't able to get a blimp for my camera. So I was restricted to shooting on rehearsals. Which was like only 2 minutes long.

A bit of weather came through the other night. I got out of the city light just in time to catch the last of the lightning. Unfortunately I had the iso cranked from a previous shoot and didnt take the time to crank it down, so its a bit noisy with some banding.
