I have to say I'm really digging 35L. 35L and 85 F1.8 is a really nice combo for shooting portrait. The only minor annoyance is having to switch lens very often, I guess why some people have 2 cameras lol. 85L is one gorgeous lens, would love to upgrade my 85 F1.8 one day but in the mean time I'll just use what I have. 85 mm focal length on full frame really works for me.

It sure didn't take you long to contradict yourself. :)

I meant like the 70-200 or something. 17-40L would rarely get used. Im trying to get into portraits and such and out of the automotive thing unless its paid for which is when I would need the 17-40L the most except for random landscapes. General use would always go to the primes

Portraits - 35, 50, 85, 135, 24-70, 24-105 and if you're Allen 200 2.0L. If you can only do one and want to do groups as well as individuals then I'd say either the 50 or the 24-70.

god, a 200/2L would be epiccccc. Id love to have one but would have to get a small loan to get one lol. Couldn't justify it, especially as a college student with no loans or anything as of now. Maybe when I get a more steady higher paying job than a server at Outback and I start getting paid more for my photography I could consider taking out a loan for some goodies.

Thanks I played around with fill light a bit before, like the dark looks better. :)

That is a nice pic, good composition, subtle lighting, great setting. Nice work

Can buy a 1.8 85mm for a nice price.. on full frame I like that more than my nifty fifty. But is the quality of pictures the same or is the 85 better?

no zooms, hooked on primes. By walkaround, I meant an easier FL to use so I dont have to be so far away from things to shoot

Get down in there the 35L is the king on a 5D in my opinion and the 24L is not to bad either.

I had CPS send me both the 5DII and the 1DsMkIII and I really think my next camera buy will be a Leica M9. Now that is truly impressive. All manual, no FPS, NO VIDEO, a photographers camera. I found both the 1DsMkII and the 5DII having to much stuff I don't use or want. The menu's are a mess and way to big. Just to much stuff or me and my style.

I've should listen you..you were right waaaayyy too much crap on the 5D MKII that I don't really need or use...the manual is making my head spiiiiiiinnnnnnn like craaaaaazzzyyy
