Cool shots Mike!

Hey, I'm curious -- this is not a critique, 'cause these shots are very nice, but I'm wondering -- have you tried lowering your background exposure a touch to see how getting some more detail in the snow would look?

Like I said, I'm just curious -- I've never done this type of shot!

didnt try but a good point for sure. I was snowing lightly and it was the small flury stuff. It actually looked a little foggy out there with the stuff coming down. Plus it was cold. we were just trying to get them in and get back in the warm cars:eek:. I had the flash attached and i was at 1/160. One of the reasons i want to get those new pocket wizards, flex tt5's.

I had the exact same experience around midday today. Do you know it takes longer for a 5D classic to travel from west Australia to east Australia by AusPost than it takes Fedex to ship a grip from Texas USA to Australia? Anyway, I got them both today and this is the result. Secondhand 5D with a 3 serial number and under 5400 on the clock. I was given the lens :)

Hey guys, it's been quite a while since I've stopped by, needed a break from all the lens lust! This is still the BEST thread I've ever read/posted in through out the internet! Keep up the great work!

I've had yesterday an err 01 error and the mirror wouldn't fall down. I turned the camera off, turned it on and it works just fine. Should I be worried? :> Should I check something?

It may be dust between the camera mount contact and the lense mount contact.
