The great shots just keep coming in this thread!! I've been too busy to do any shooting lately, so I'm just enjoying looking at all the beautiful work that keeps going past on a daily basis here! I do have a question for any of you that live and shoot in cold climates. In a week or so I'll be visiting the frozen north US for a week or so, and hope to do some shooting there. Is the 5D tight enough to just take in and out, or is it best to seal it up in a zip lock before bringing it inside? It will most likely be out for several hours at a time, and I'm thinking I may get some hand warmer packs to put in the case to keep the batteries warm, but am wondering about condensation when bringing it back inside. Any and all tips would be very much appreciated!

Had my camera out in -9c And some og my buttons like the iso wouldnt work.

Put it in a sealed bag before bringing it in and leave it there until it warms up...

Picked up a Sigma 85 f1.4 today so I decided to snap some shots on the way to the train.

okay, this is going to be a interesting response. I'm not trying to start a flame war, but why do I have the feeling that my 450D is sharper than my 5D (in a some sadistic way)? I love my 5D by the way and haven't used my rebel since i got the 5D.

But expect greatly reduced battery life.

I'm out with my 5D (and previous cameras of various types) in all sorts of weather (-25C/-13F at worst) and so far no problems at all. It's -22C right now btw. and the river is starting to freeze over. I haven't seen that before in the 5½ years we have lived here.

When it snows on the camera I just make sure to wipe the snow off before it melts.
If it rains on it (I wouldn't use it in pouring rain without an umbrella or plastic bag though) I wipe it off before putting it back in the bag.
When I get inside on cold day I let the camera sit in the camera bag until it has warmed up a bit.

Have a great trip!

Slightly surreal, I love it!

Great set! I think I'd prefer it if all weren't tilted, but still really nice.
EDIT: Just saw your new set. Like those even more - great work!

Wow, beautiful series! Great idea with the star shaped sun reflection in #2. I'll have to try that some time. :) (I have done if before, but never with reflections.)

Hope you all will have a great Christmas and a happy new year!
