Welcome back Bob! Look forward to seeing more of your work, love the last set you posted that's a great shot of that pony.

I would also like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and a great 2011.

I would also like to thank everyone for all the help and support i'v received this year. This forum is great.

X10, thanks everyone! I feel I've learned so much in a year, and I sure my shooting wouldn't be where it's at if it wasn't for this forum, and pretty much this thread in particular. I probably wouldn't have half the glass I have either, so my wallet thanks you for that :p

Happy holidays everyone!

One from yesterday. c&c welcome as usual.

Merry Christmas everyone, hope everyone got what they wished for. More camera gear? :D

Took these after a lunch gathering with my gf's family. One of her sisters wanted some portraits taken so I brought along my softbox and 580EXII along to the restaurant. After lunch we had about 15 mins all together shooting a total of 4 people while all of her family watched on. Everything was shot by the small entrance hallway inside the restaurant. Not the best of my work I have to say but it's nice to know I can shoot pretty damn consistently now, even under pressure. :)

Haven't checked in here in a while but glad to see it going strong! My 5DC purchase got shoved off till the tax man gives me back some cash but that'll be in a month or two hopefully. In the mean time I picked up a 50/1.4 and have been shooting it on a film body.

Does anyone use the 17-35/2.8 on their 5DC? I ask because they seem to be available used for not much more than the 17-40 and the faster glass works for me as I detest using flash...

Also lusting after a 35/1.4 but that's not exactly cheap....

All the world's indeed a stage and we are merely players performers and portrayers.

Great scenes in your pics Kevin.

Bought myself a 50L for Christmas. It arrived on Christmas Eve, just in time to put the lens to use on Christmas Day. Taken wide open.

So far so good. Used it throughout the day on the 25th. I find the focal length perfect for indoor photography, especially in my not-so-big house.

One thing I would do to your photo would be to clone out her necklace. The two strands are distracting since the bottom of the necklace is covered, it just seems like she has two strands that are just "there". I would also bring out her eyes a little more and make them the main attraction. She has very nice blue eyes, which would easily catch the attention of anyone, just like in your first picture on top of this page.
