In Amsterdam it's not hidden away - it's part of town center and lots of tourists go there (even groups) just to look. There are regular restaurants and hotels in the middle of it all. There are near naked women sitting in the windows, but I didn't photograph them out of respect. I had no such respect for the guys/men visiting them though.
