Number 3 is my favorite as well. And he's almost flipping you off in that shot, too, which is a nice bonus. LOL

thank you! yup natural light for all of them. actually I used my 55-250 for the first 3 and 50 f/1.8 for the last one that exif data has to be from the last shot because I used ISO 100 for the outdoor ones and had to bump it up for the indoor one so I could avoid using my flash. thanks for the comments!

edit: OK I was mistaken... I used my 55-250 for all of these. others from this set that I didn't post I switched to my 50 mm

How do you make his eyes look like GLASS? :) So cool! My kids eyes are both dark too - brown to black almost.. and I can't seem to make it really crisp.. it just looks flat.. :(

thanks! takes lots of practice :)
couple things to keep in mind ....
1. make sure your shutter speed isnt too low and you keep the camera as steady as possible (so you dont get motion/camera blur)

2. set your focus on your camera to manually choose a focal point (usually the center point is the sharpest) rather than auto focus where it chooses the point on its own

3. set the focus point on one of the eyes (closest one to you if they are at an angle and one is closer to you than the other)

4. practice a lot :) you'll get there

good luck!

thank you! ya i bounced back and forth whether i preferred the color or b&w but i think the b&w just pops more w/ these...theres a closer up shot i think i didn't post but its in the rest of the album i listed above that you can really see it.
