I'm not sure about the optical performance at all but, from reading reviews on the net, it's decent. If you check on Flickr, there's a group that uses this lens and the images look pretty good. If this lens is to be used stopped down for landscapes, the IQ is pretty sharp. I would like someone who owns this lens to give us some real feedback bcoz' looking at images doesn't do a thing for me.

Thanks, from the reviews I've read it seems pretty decent when stopped down but I'd like some feedback too. Would like to see some comparisons too if anyone has some. If the IQ is better I'd go for this, but if its not any better I may as well gain a few mm's at the wide end and the zoom as I dont mind carrying a bit extra weight
Plasticmotif, did you manage to compare the voigtlander to the 17-40 whilst you had it? Any idea how the corners compare when stopped down?
