On Easter Monday I managed to photograph a pair of Hooded Mergansers with friend and fellow photography Jim Cumming. All photos were taken with the Canon 40D and Sigma 50-500mm mounted on a Manfrotto monopod.

1. Look back

2. Three drops

3. Bill shake, hood flare (too bad about the look away)

5. Male wing flap

6. Male In flight. It's soft but I was still pleased to catch the action in a frame when the pair burst into flight unexpectedly.

Nicely done set of shots Stephen, I always enjoy images with the natural surroundings, I particularly enjoyed the second shot with the water droplets.
