Nothing going on around Easter, but now we're back at it. We had a road race Saturday in Illinois and a Criterium in Wisconsin on Sunday.

1. Best darn pace car I've ever seen at a bike race!

2. This route was 29 miles long and they passed over these brick streets only once per lap so I had minimal chances at them plus the sun was all wrong. Did the best I could.

3. I guess I had trouble capturing the essence of them riding on bricks rather than concrete which is what set this scene apart from other races.

4. The next day was your typical short lap, criterium so there was plenty of opportunity to 'get it right'. This is James Stemper, a rider that grew up just a few miles from me, just turned Pro last year.

5. This was the final corner before the S/F line, plus it was the fastest corner, and had the best light.

6. Real close finish after a hard fought battle on wheels.

7. Last season I made friends with the official that owns the photo finish camera.
It will be fun processing these. This one is a bit small, but will make bigger ones available. I guess he captures an image 1 pixel wide at 3,000 frames per second with the computer.

Yes cool pace car indeed. What lens are you using? I don't have exif viewer installed yet on my new comp.

His photos are hosted at smugmug, the exif won't show up.

That was the Sigma 120-400mm f4-5.6. I'm really liking that lens for it's zooming capabilities. Yeah, best pace car I have ever seen. LOL
