Elinchrom quadra cables are EXPENSIVE. 160 dollars for the 10 meter one. I figure it shouldn´t be too hard to make one, but I need to figure out how to source the heads of it.

They look like this:

Anyone have any ideas where to order custom cable heads? I can get 10 wire heavy duty cable here, and my father in law is an electrician and can weld it all together. Do you think these are a totally custom arrangement, or if it's something off the shelf. I'd love to know what the name for this type of plug is.

Those amphenol, or military style connectors are not cheap and neither is the cable you'd need. Obviously, if you have the ability to source the parts for less then you're ahead of the game but I've found that some components can be very expensive and sometimes make it not all that worthwhile to build a cable as opposed to buying.

Well the other problem is that the 5 and 10 meter cables aren't in stock anywhere, and my dealer has no ETA.
