Helllo,

I have a Canon A590 IS which has been great to work with so far.

Would I notice a big increase in image quality if I got a S90?

I went to www.dpreview.com (external link) and set up the side by side evaluation of the two cameras and for the most part them seem fairly similar. The sensors don't seem about the same size, and the lenses seem to be similar as well. Am I correct about this?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer

If you can afford around $400 (or slightly less) I would say yea. The S90 has less zoom range but other than that it's better in most ways. Bigger sensor, faster lens, outstanding low light performance, shoots in RAW

No, you shouldn't get one. You should get ME one.

Of course you should get it, and convince my wife that I should get one.

Thank you. bw!

I AM feeling charitable.

I have learned so much from this forum. Unfortunately I don't have the $ to buy everyone a camera.

If I ever win the lottery, S90's for everyone

Didn't I read somewhere that Father's Day was moved earlier from June to April? ;)

No...but it could be worse. Most English-speaking countries celebrate it in September.

Thank you. bw!
