Hi all,

Please give comment and critique. Anything that can make the photo better.

1.

2.

Both of this is pretty much the same. Using 3 different RAW processed from Photomatix. Then edited in Photoshop.

The first one I did quite sometime ago. After Photomatix, I only did a bit touch up on brightness, levels, noise reduction in Photoshop.

The second, After Photomatix I opened the HDR plus the other 3 source file and slowly trying to combine them back with masking.

Please comment and critique. Thank you.

Note: I'm pretty much very new with photoshop or any photo editing. :o

I'm new at this too, but here's my thoughts.

My initial comment is the same as one I received a few weeks ago "I'd have to see the 0ev pic, but this doesn't look like it's an HDR candidate". It doesn't seem like there's enough difference in the exposure level.

Other than the sky in the top pic I like it better. It's sharper, cleaner and without know what the actual site looks like appears more natural. I do like the sky color (but watch the halo's) and shadows in the water in the bottom one.

Hi J-Blake, thank you for giving C&C.

The 0ev file:

You are right, after you mention. The photo might not need HDR.

Edit:
I agree with all your C&C. Yesterday after posting it and keep looking at both. I thought the same too. the other thing, I felt the 1st photo kind of flat compared to 2nd but has better contrast. On 2nd photo I notice the halo and shadow on water but not sure how to fix them...

I'm new too haha. I still like the picture itself. There should be enough exposure for a good HDR. I like the second one better but there is some halo'ing in the clouds, the roofs of the orange houses seem a bit contrasted and its a tad too dark. Maybe a balance between one and two would work. Masking 0, +/- 2 photos into the hdr in PS might help.

Thanks for the C&C Kilrov, yep I like the 2nd one too. seem has more depth and texture but the halo'ing and shadows make it seem messy.. Im still learning on cleaning them :o 2nd photo also using the HDR + all three 0/-2/+2 but I'm still not good at masking and editing.. thank you again :)

I like the second one. You're off to a good start.

I like #2 the best.

This one has the contrast adjusted in PS and then run through topaz. I wanted to bring out the clouds and show the tones in the water.

I like the original exposure best, but the recent edit by Crimson black is neat. It has that turn-of-the-century look (well, the turn before the last turn).

Thank you. bw!
