Do you mean the "D" ring that tightens the QR plate on the camera and then folds flat?

Don't think I'd trust 'em.

That's the one.....I can carry two cameras all day long on dual R-straps and never had a problem. I will check 'em every now and again to make sure they're tight, and I've never had one come loose. I've been using them for about a year now.

I wouldn't be worried about backing out of the tripod socket but I would be concerned with bending or deforming the D-Ring to the point where one end of the wire pulls out of the holes in the tightening stud.

I suppose the amount of weight you're carrying will make a difference.

I think in terms of a 24-70 or 70-200 on one body and a 300 f/2.8 (or 500 f/4 even) on the other so maybe I'm skewing the curve slightly. ;)

Precisely the same thoughts I had - opening the D-ring a little and having the camera fall away from it.

Or if you would like something a little more custom:

...and they are extremely comfortable.

Thanks for posting this link... I've been looking for something like this for a long time and she is going to do a custom strap for me! Thanks again!
