Camera Strap

Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations as to what brand/make of camera strap they like to use.

I am currently using the camera strap that came with my camera, and it is not comfortable; it also gets tangled very easily, which I find irks me quite a bit.

I am looking mainly for comfort. I suppose it would be cool if the strap had those quick disconnect buckles so I could take the camera off the strap without going over my neck -but again, not necessary.

And just a curiosity question -how many of you use hand straps instead of neck straps on your camera? I got one from Adorama made by Hakuba, and I used it for a little bit. I stopped using it because I found that it is actually convenient to be able to sling the neck strap across my shoulder if I need both hands ... which I can't do with a hand strap.

i have the "super classic" with the "pro-loops"
very secure. very comfortable even with a heavy lens.

I've recently switched to the R-strap. have a look at that too.

Domke gripper 1" Swivel with Quick release is what I use.

Not soft like neoprene, but very comfortable and light.

I like Tamrac's "boomerang" style straps. They are comfortable both when worn around the neck or on the shoulder. The straps can also be quickly removed for those times when it is more convenient to just use tha Canon E-1 hand strap.

i have one on both of my bodies. love them.

OPTech camera strap for me as well (or you can use the POTN strap as its the same product with POTN lable). The overall feel and padding is fantastic and really a world of difference when comapared to the offical canon strap which I could never wear bare onto my neck comfortably (I always used a thick highcollar jumper as padding) but the OPTech is easily comforable enough to not need the jumper anymore.

Further the clips that attach it to the camera body are a great thing if you alternate from tripod to handheld shooting. You can unclip the major length of the strap in moments and then the two remaining parts on the camera body will clip together. It's too short for a strap, but it makes for a very neat way to get them out of the way when using a tripod; and if you need the strap again a few moments and its clipped back into place and ready to go again

Any thoughts on the R trap? Seems like it may be a nuisance if you're going to be mounting the camera to a tripod

I use the upstraps on my 1D series cameras and love them. you hang it on your shoulder and it doesn't go any where.

For around the neck, I use the POTN optek strap.

Same. Great straps. I hate Crumpler gear but their straps are awesome.
