Why is this funny?

DPP does read the in-camera settings and applies them. I think it's the only RAW converter that will.

The reason why I thought it was funny, was because he could of done away with setting the WB in the camera, and done it in DPP

I'm able to shoot in RAW and when importing into LR I still have the tab that says, "As Shot". I know that LR has it's own import settings and you can change them around but in RAW it still has a reading of the WB that the camera shot as.

wb ≠ PP. A lot of the time I process with never changing the white balance that the camera was set to in RAW.

I think I know what you are trying to say but it sounds like you don't know what you are talking about. Maybe the other alternative is that you're just saying what you are thinking wrongly.

What I am trying to say, is that I always shoot 'As shot' then do post processing in DPP, because I think that it is a waste of effort, if the shot is going to come out the same if you do it in DPP (i.e. Shooting in RAW would have no real effect on the photo, unless you left it like that)

It's less work to set it in-camera if you know what white balance you want, as it saves having to do it in post-processing.

All the energy saved from fewer mouse-clicks at the post processing stage can be channelled into other important tasks such as nose-picking.

This is the least funniest thing i have read all year..

Setting the WB incorrectly can effect the overall exposure too. I know probably not an issue with shooting a sunset (AWB should be fine) but for indoor work it certainly is.

Whats so funny about someone not knowing that he could Post-Process WB? I think I know how to work a Camera, but as for Post-Processing I haven't the foggiest idea what I am doing. I had to studdy the POTN Tutiorial to find out how to resize my Photo's!
