Magazine print paper

My son has a school project to create a magazine. Rather than send it out to be printed, I'd like to print it myself, if I can. I have a Canon Pixma Pro 9500 Mk II as well as an older i9900, but I've never seen anything like magazine-thickness glossy paper anywhere. My searches haven't turned up anything yet either. So I figured I'd ask here if anyone knows of paper that would work for this (or is close enough). Thanks.
