Ok right now I have a 35mm 1.8 Nikkor that I do all my shooting with.

I like to shoot landscapes but I also like shooting people even more.

So I am torn between the following two lenses.

Both Tamron

17-50mm 2.8

or

28-75mm 2.8

both are the same price. I like the wide angle of the 17 but I also am very attracted to the 75mm in terms of portraits and people. And the 28 would be a bit wider than my 35mm. What say ye?

since the 17-50 is on your list I assume you are shooting crop?

50mm on a crop isn't a terrible portrait focal length. i shoot people a lot but would still like to be able to go wider than 28 when i need to.

I personally like to have a little more reach, but I have never shot with anything less than the 28-75 after I got rid of the kit lens. I guess it depends on how wide you would need to go.
