What do we think of this:

Elinchrom mount to be available at launch.

I'd love to actually see the light but it looks pretty cool. It has my interest. :D

I think this should be titled "A New Type Of Reflector From The Rafters!"

A monolight equivalent to the mondo "cans" hung in many stadiums?
Sports shooters should love these...

It's definitely interesting, Rob. Based on the grid-friendly lip on the reflector, I'll bet it started life as a wok that was on its way to becoming a beauty dish but got diverted and "re-purposed" before the hole was cut in its bottom.

If the Retro-Laser reflector has a polished, bottom (convex side), it would be interesting to try inverting it on its mount (so the convex side faces the flash tube) and seeing if it could evenly light a room with the flash positioned high on a stand and pointing straight up. Could be a lifesaver where the ceiling is too high for bounce.

Check out second paragraph under the first pictures.
"Mounting is through a brand-specific speedring and cage assembly (the same hardware will be used to attach the next generation of Paul C. Buff PLM series umbrella to the flash). "
It goes on to mention an elinchrom mount, John

Is that the faint shadow of the strobe I see in the 2nd image (the darker patch to the right of the model)?

This part almost made me wet my pajamas with excitement:

Mounting is through a brand-specific speedring and cage assembly (the same hardware will be used to attach the next generation of Paul C. Buff PLM series umbrella to the flash).
