Seeing everyone's images here makes me realize how much I still have to learn, but here are some of mine anyway.

Thanks :)

First two of Moto GP was a 1DMKIII with a 400 f2.8 IS L and a 1.4x tc shot through the fence at Silverstone.

Second two of World Superbikes at Donnington were a 1DMKIII with a 70-200 f2.8 IS L MKII from centre track while covering pitlane on a press pass but you can get on the bank just before pitlane entrance.

Image five and six were with a 1DX and a 400 f5.6,five at Silverstone from inside of new pitlane complex and six was at Brands on the GP circuit both again from press side on a season pass.

Superb photos!

Qns for you:

What focus point type are you using?

What shutter speeds are you using?

I struggled with getting perfect shots on the straights with bikes going over 160MPH at 1/80th sec then moved up to 1/160th to somehow get a decent shots for the straights. I tried the 15 point focus with less success but later switched to the cross- type points.

Unless your panning I'd keep it at 1/800 or above and F4 or larger to get some depth of field. Centre point focus only. You don't normally have much time for the focus to hunt with bikes and you don't want to risk it latching on to some flash advertising in the background..

TV Mode, 70-200 with 2x TC, 1/80th sec. at over 160MPH. Could have done better but didn't do enough homwework before the attempt

800 or above?

They would look like they are parked. Too fast of a shutter speed for my liking.
