I've just upgraded to 5D Mk II and sold the 50D. Now, I have the sandisk ultra II, do you think I need to upgrade or it will be fine?
thanks.

Try it and decide for yourself. This, specifically because you'll be waiting for the buffer to clear out. Apparently I've been dubbed Foxy.

Wanted to know if I could use my CF cards (same ones as you) in my 5D Mark II that I just ordered. I had been using them in a 40D. Seems there was some issue with file numbering. In either case, consider reformatting before using. Also, on B&H, I saw some 8 GB Sandisk cards for $33. Newer than the Ultra II that you and I have. I will be picking up a few of them and keeping old CF cards for my 40D. Looks like full RAW images on the 5D Mark II will use one GB for every 40 images. So an 8 GB card will hold 320 +/- images. The extreme cards are nice I am sure, but a quite a premium. Being that my lowly Ultra II cards worked like a champ, I am sure the newer moderately priced Sandisk cards will be fine. I will go with the 8 GB size though since moving to a 5D Mark II. I had been using 2GB and 4GB cards on the 40D. That won't cut the muster on 21 mp RAW files.
