Cool I cleaned it off with a qtip and alcohol. Dried it off with some canned air. Still a few light stains. Going to bring it to the local camera and and have them do a cleaning.

Try some distilled water. Always use water first as it's a better solvent for many things then alcohol is.

There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealing's done

Canned air = BAD BAD BAD. The air isn't the issue, it's the chemicals they use as propellant. NEVER use canned air on your lens!

Don't take it to the shop, just get some lens tissue and cleaner, or a lens pen. I am about 99.995% sure you will have some sort of spots on your lens in the near future. Best to learn to remedy it yourself.

Canned air should be avoided. If you washed it with alcool, it will dry quickly.

Thank God the mods changed the title. :) Why bicker over it? Just clean it. Lens pen or micro fiber cloth will do the trick. :)

Thank you... jeepers... People just do not understand how durable these lenses are. This is optical glass, very, very tough to damage it. And L glass to boot, coated lens elements... no worries.

If you must know...

Really, that looks like a drop of dried sweat.
