Is there a reason I should not get a SD990? It looks pretty good for replacing my SD600.

It depends on whether you want to stick to an SDxxx size, or move up a little to the S90 size. The SD990 has the G10 sensor, but perhaps not as sharp a lens, due to the camera size. The S90 has a faster and wider lens, and performs better at higher ISOs. The S90 has full real manual controls, especially PASM, while the SD990 has P and M. The S90 has a larger and better LCD (3"/460K dots vs 2.5"/230K dots). And this list of differences goes on.

hnikesch Goldmember More info | Apr 17, 2010 17:31 | #4 Very true denncald the SD990 is lacking a real aperture, but it has complete shutter speed and ISO control, manual focus, the same size sensor as the S90 but 14.7mp and an optical finder. I agree in the low light the S90 has the advantage. Wearing photogray glasses I need the optical finder in bright sun light. Hans
